Family Swimming School from 3y.

Family Swimming School

Family Swim School is designed for children aged 3 and up (with no upper age limit) and their parents. Siblings aged 1 year and older are also welcome in the pool.

The core idea of the program is to give children the opportunity to develop swimming skills with guidance from their own parent. The main goals are to achieve basic 10-meter and 25-meter swimming skills. Children can also earn official swimming badges from the Finnish Swimming Teaching and Lifesaving Federation.

Pricing: €126/month, including one child and up to two adults.
Additional sibling: €63/month per sibling if they join the same group.

What is Family Swim School about?

The core idea of Family Swim School is to give children the opportunity to engage in age-appropriate, sport-like movement with the support of their own parent. Family Swim School is not a traditional swim school; instead, it focuses on child-centered activities that support each child’s stage of development.

Instructors facilitate activities in the pool that are most important for your child at that moment. They provide guidance on how your family can best support your child’s learning and enjoyment from their perspective. Each child effectively has their own “private teacher” in the pool—their parent, or even two parents—ensuring personalized attention and support.

How does progression work in Family Swim School?

Weekly themes support your child’s path to strong swimming skills.

Each lesson begins and ends with group play, while the rest of the session allows each child to progress at their own pace. Instructors circulate around the pool, providing guidance and tips for age-appropriate swimming activities.

Every lesson has a specific theme—a “red thread” that ties the activities together. How long a child actively practices and listens—whether for a minute or up to 8 minutes—depends on their developmental stage and energy level on that day.

What else happens in Family Swim School?

As swimming skills develop, the child’s motor development is strengthened.

Children also have the opportunity to earn official swimming badges from the Finnish Swimming Teaching and Lifesaving Federation, such as beginner, recreational, and technique badges. (The beginner badge requires a 10-meter swim, while the recreational badge requires 25–50 meters.)

Throughout the lesson, the focus remains on one key question: What does our child enjoy right now?
